Entrepreneur, Jerry Maahs, and founder of Alto-Shaam entered the foodservice industry in 1950 as one of the first Chicken Delight chain franchise units. After expanding to 13 home delivery divisions within the franchise, Jerry pursued his passion to finding a solution for keeping food hot. Over the years, his groundbreaking inventions, such as Halo Heat Technology and the introduction to the Combitherm Oven, allowed him double the size of Alto-Shaam’s headquarters in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. In the 1990’s, Alto-Shaam expanded their innovated services overseas as they gained even more customers in other countries, such as France and Canada. Today, the family-owned business is now efficiently ran by Jerry’s children, Steve Maahs and Karen Hansen, as they continue Alto-Shaam’s legacy as pioneers within the foodservice industry.
