Save Money, Get OEM PartsPosted October 24, 2013 by CPS
At CPS, we toss around the phrase ‘OEM’ a lot. OEM, OEM, OEM! No, we haven’t become chanting Buddhist monks, we’re just excited about providing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. This can mean a few different things depending on the industry you’re in. Automotive parts stores can give OEM a bad rap because they’ll have signs that say ‘OEM’ and tiny disclaimers to say that the parts in that bin are only manufactured to OEM standards. But OEM standards can actually change, or often are trade secrets anyway. The only real way to get OEM parts, is to buy OEM parts.
Why buy OEM?
It’s simple, internet. Do you want longer lasting equipment that performs to the designated specifications? Great. Then buy OEM. The OEM of your commercial kitchen machinery tested it with their parts in mind. So they know your oven can cook chicken in 20 minutes with that part. With another, maybe it overcooks in 18, or undercooks in 23. They don’t know how aftermarket parts can perform. They’re not as wise and all-knowing as CPS.
Just kidding. We only have rough guesses. That’s why we are one the largest distributors of OEM parts with 150 manufacturers who choose us as their Authorized Service Agent (ASA).
But also, as much as we love to service your kitchen, we’re going to tell you what your warranty can do for you. Replacing faulty parts with non-OEM ones often voids your warranty. Think of it this way: would you void the warranty on your top-of-the-line computer?
Check out the parts we stock by using the Parts Search tool on our homepage. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Give us a call anyway. CPS’ goal is to be your one-stop shop for commercial kitchen equipment. If we can’t fix it, we’ll find someone who can.
